Awaken Living Books Homeschool Conference
Awaken: A Living Books Educational Conference gathers homeschooling families in Traverse City, Michigan on July 17-18, 2026 for a two-day immersion in Charlotte Mason's living-books philosophy. The conference is built around deepening families' understanding of literature-rich, nature-centered, Christ-centered education, what organizers describe as living a "Living Books Life." Keynote sessions and community conversation form the core of the weekend, alongside vendor tables offering curriculum and resources aligned with the living-books approach. The conference draws both northern Michigan families and those traveling from farther afield who want substantive inspiration for their CM practice rather than a large convention floor. An associated podcast and blog extend the community throughout the year.
Rooted in Charlotte Mason's living-books philosophy, the Awaken Living Books Homeschool Conference gathers northern Michigan homeschoolers and traveling families each summer in Traverse City. The event is built around deepening families' understanding of literature-rich, nature-centered education — what organizers call a "Living Books Life." Attendees find inspiration through keynote sessions, community conversation, and connection with like-minded parents. An active podcast and blog extend the community beyond the conference weekend.
