William & Mary Center for Gifted Education
The Twice-Exceptional (2e) Online Conference 2027 is hosted by the William & Mary Center for Gifted Education and runs live online February 11 to 12. The conference addresses twice-exceptional learners, described by the organizers as "high-ability/gifted with learning differences/disabilities or neurodiverse" children at home and at school. It serves both audiences directly: parents and practitioners alongside educators, administrators, counselors, and district personnel. Sessions span gifted-education strategies, disability profiles such as ADHD, OCD, and ASD, IEPs and 504 plans, social-emotional wellbeing, curriculum design, and advocacy for dual-needs learners. The center aims to provide research-based, best-practice resources and community, filling a recognized gap in how widely twice-exceptionality is understood. Past conferences have been recorded and made available on demand, so the W&M page may foreground prior recordings ahead of the live 2027 dates.
A research center within the School of Education at William & Mary, the Center for Gifted Education advances understanding and support for high-ability learners. Its annual online Twice-Exceptional (2e) Conference focuses on gifted children who also have learning differences or are neurodivergent, drawing parents, educators, counselors, and practitioners together virtually. Sessions deliver research-based strategies, resources, and community for meeting these students' dual needs at home and at school. Grounded in a university program, the conference brings academic expertise to families navigating twice-exceptional learning.
