Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers (VaHomeschoolers)
The VaHomeschoolers unConvention 2026 is a one-day statewide gathering hosted by the Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in Richmond on Saturday, August 8, from 10 am to 4 pm, with an adult mixer following until 6 pm. The nonsectarian, inclusive format trades the usual convention sprawl for a focused day of workshops and talks led by experienced homeschoolers and educational professionals, networking with other families, and an exhibit hall of curriculum providers and vendors. The day suits beginners and seasoned homeschoolers alike, with practical sessions on strategies that work across approaches. Registration is open through Zeffy, and half-day volunteers receive full-day registration plus lunch.
An independent, member-driven nonprofit, VaHomeschoolers supports families across Virginia while serving as a neutral, accurate voice on homeschooling to legislators, school divisions, and the media. Neutral on politics and religion, it welcomes families of every background. Its signature gathering, the unConvention, packs workshops led by experienced homeschoolers and educators alongside an exhibit hall of curriculum providers and hands-on resources into a single inclusive day, making it one of the state's largest all-welcome homeschool events. It is distinct from HEAV.
