The Home Educators Association of Virginia holds its 44th annual Virginia Homeschool Convention June 10-12, 2027 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. HEAV’s convention is the anchor homeschool event in Virginia, combining a large exhibit hall with sessions for new and veteran homeschooling parents. About HEAV
One of the oldest homeschool organizations in the country, HEAV was founded in 1983 and played a direct role in Virginia's homeschool law passing in 1984. Each June the association convenes the Virginia Homeschool Convention in the Richmond area — a three-day gathering that regularly draws more than 10,000 participants. The exhibit hall alone includes 135+ vendors spanning curriculum publishers and enrichment providers, paired with keynote speakers, grade-specific workshops, and resources designed to support families through every stage of their homeschool journey.
