Connecticut Homeschool Network (CHN)
The Connecticut Homeschool Network holds its annual conference on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 72 Broad Street in Groton, running from noon to 4:00 PM. One of the most accessible homeschool events in New England, admission is free, with a suggested $5 donation per adult; children attend at no cost. The afternoon opens with keynote presentations in the main sanctuary, followed by multiple concurrent information sessions through mid-afternoon. Attendees can browse an exhibitor hall, participate in a used curriculum book and supply sale, pick up free resource bags at the Welcome Table, and enter giveaway drawings. Attorney Deborah G. Stevenson of the National Home Education Legal Defense organization will present a workshop on homeschool law. CHN's all-welcome, secular-friendly approach makes this a natural starting point for Connecticut families considering or just beginning to homeschool.
CHN's tagline — "Inclusively informing, supporting and empowering families" — reflects its identity as a secular-friendly, all-welcome hub in a state where many homeschool events skew faith-based. The Annual CHN Homeschool Conference each August in Groton is free to attend (a small suggested donation per adult), making it one of the most accessible entry points for families new to homeschooling. Keynote presentations, a used curriculum sale, free resource bags, and a packed exhibitor hall draw hundreds of attendees; vendor spaces routinely fill ahead of the event.
