CHEA of California
CHEA of California's 2026 Parenting and Homeschool Convention runs July 10-11 at Calvary Chapel Downey, drawing families from across the state for a two-day program built around keynote speakers, breakout sessions covering all grade levels and subjects, and a curriculum exhibit hall. New for 2026 is a five-session Homeschooling Basics Certificate Program, alongside free Friday morning mini-conferences on intro homeschooling and life after high school. Parallel programming serves children through Child-Con and teens through Teen-Con, which focuses on leadership and communication. The annual high school graduation ceremony and a Friday evening family BBQ are both part of the weekend. Spanish-language sessions and resources are available. Group hotel rates have been arranged at the Holiday Inn La Mirada, about 15 minutes from the venue.
California's longest-standing Christian homeschool organization, CHEA has supported families across the state since 1982. Each July the association hosts the Parenting & Homeschool Convention in Downey, combining a curriculum exhibit hall, workshops spanning every grade level, and parallel programming for children and teens. A highlight for many members is the annual High School Graduation Ceremony honoring seniors. Year-round, CHEA also maintains a statewide support-group directory and offers one-on-one educational consulting for curriculum and recordkeeping questions.
