Interior Distance Education of Alaska (IDEA) is a state-funded K–12 homeschool support program that provides enrolled families with an annual per-student allocation for curriculum and educational expenses, alongside contact teachers who walk with families year-round. Each spring, the IDEA Curriculum Fair travels to multiple Alaska cities — typically Wasilla, Soldotna, Fairbanks, and Juneau — where attendees can handle curriculum samples firsthand, place advance orders, and attend learning workshops. The fair is open to all Alaska families, not just IDEA enrollees.
